Quakertown girls’ volleyball defeated New Hope-Solebury, 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-9, 25-11), on Monday. Lindsay Beck had 12 digs and six aces for the Panthers. Haley Sheehan had 11 kills, six digs and three aces, while Amanda Pursel notched eight kills, eight digs and two aces. Also contributing were: Katelyn Spieker, six kills, two blocks, one ace; Kerry Vanyo, 13 assists, two kills, three aces; and Jen Sterner, 12 assists, two kills, four digs, one block.
Quakertown girls’ volleyball defeated George School, 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-15), on Tuesday. The Panthers are 3-3 overall. Jen Sterner amassed 10 assists, six digs, two kills and two aces for Quakertown. Kerry Vanyo had eight assists, three kills and two aces, while Haley Sheehan had eight kills and Katelyn Spieker seven.
Quakertown girls’ volleyball went down to North Penn, 3-1 (15-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-21), on Thursday. The Panthers are 2-3 overall and in the 0-3 SOL Continental. Setters Jen Sterner and Kerry Vanyo combined for 19 assists and two aces against the Maidens. Amanda Pursel (12 kills, eight digs) and Haley Sheehan (nine kills, three aces) stood out on offense, while Lindsay Beck (14 digs) led the defense.
Quakertown girls’ volleyball lost to Souderton, 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-16), on Tuesday to fall to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the Suburban One Continental. For the Panthers, Katelyn Spieker had seven kills, two aces and one block; Lindsay Beck, eight digs, two aces, one kill; Jen Sterner, six assists, three kills, two aces; Amanda Pursel, three kills; and Haley Sheehan, three kills.
Quakertown girls’ volleyball defeated Wissahickon, 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-11), on Monday evening to run its record to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the SOL Continental. Offensively, the Panthers were led by Haley Sheehan (eight kills, two aces), Amanda Pursel (seven kills, one ace) and Kerry Vanyo (11 assists, four aces). Libero Lindsay Beck contributed 10 digs and an ace.
Quakertown girls’ volleyball got its SOL Continental slate started on Thursday evening with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-16) setback at Central Bucks West. The Panthers are 1-1 overall.
Quakertown girls’ volleyball defeated Cheltenham, 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-15), on Friday morning in its season opener. Haley Sheehan’s nine kills – she also had five digs – led Quakertown. Amanda Pursel added seven kills, while Katelyn Spieker had five kills, two blocks and three aces. Lindsay Beck contributed nine digs. Setters Jen Sterner (12 assists, five kills, three aces) and Kerry Vanyo (14 assists, three aces) stepped up, as well.
