Quakertown boys’ volleyball defeated Souderton, 3-1 (25-15, 25-12, 24-26, 25-16), on Wednesday. The Panthers are 9-4 in the SOL Continental. Pennridge boys’ volleyball swept CB West, 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 25-15), on Wednesday. The Rams are 13-0 on the season and will host North Penn on Friday night. Pennridge boys’ volleyball finished in a tie for third at the State College Invitational on Saturday. The Rams were 5-1 in pool play and 4-2 in the power pool round, sweeping State College and splitting with Northeastern and Central York. Pennridge then lost, 30-20, to Hempfield in the semifinals. Pennridge boys’ volleyball senior Devon Rice passed Austin Jacoby’s mark of 129 career aces on Thursday at home against Quakertown, a 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 26-24) Rams win. Rice now has 136 aces in his career (includes all regular season and postseason matches, not tournaments). Pennridge is 12-0 on the year. The Rams are 11-0 and will host Quakertown on Thursday, at 6:30 p.m. Against the Patriots, Max McVaugh had 26 digs and two aces. Quakertown boys’ volleyball captured the Christopher Dock Tournament crown on Saturday. The Panthers didn’t drop a set. In the playoffs, they defeated Souderton, 1-0 (25-16); North Penn, 2-0 (25-17, 25-22); and Fort LeBoeuf, 2-0 (27-25, 25-21), in the final. Quakertown’s Xavier Villanueva and Dylan Flor were named to the all-tournament team; Flor was also feted as the MVP.
