Titans earn huge victory

CB South girls’ volleyball put itself in a good position to make the District One field by thwarting visiting Council Rock South, 3-2 (20-25, 25-23, 25-7, 21-25, 15-12), on Wednesday. Stats for CB South: Megan Manderson, 20 kills, 23 digs; Morgan McCrory, two aces, 37 digs; Kelly Danyluk, seven aces, one kill, 30 assists, eight digs; Alyssa Dallmer, three aces, six kills, eight digs; Tara Korch, one kill, one dig; Kayla Dougherty, two kills, two digs; Sydney Hauser, two kills, six blocks; Jessica Shelton, one kill, three blocks, three digs; and Caroline Choromanski, one ace, one kill, six assists. “Tonight was our Senior Night,” head coach Kurt Godfrey said, “and as if that wasn’t enough emotion in the building, we ended up going five with Rock South tonight. Megan Manderson, one of our senior co-captains, came up absolutely huge for us and had her biggest night of the season so far. She seemed to be able to put the ball away for us whenever we needed to get out of a jam. All of those kills would not have been possible without our outstanding serve receive and defense tonight. I am so proud of all the girls who passed for us. Megan decided to help herself out a little bit too with 23 digs. Morgan McCrory, our other senior co-captain, continued her absolutely incredible season and ended up with 37 digs for us. That puts her over 600 digs for the season and it’s just awesome to watch her accomplish that tonight. All of our seniors started tonight and every single one of them helped us get the W tonight. Whether it was Kayla, Sydney or Tara at the net for us or if it was Caroline or Jess back row … each one of them stepped up in a moment we needed them. Rock South is a great team and they play defense really well. They seem to move around really well and it made for a drama-filled night. This National conference has been crazy this season and it really truly makes each match that much more important. Hopefully, we will get the opportunity to continue our season in the playoffs.”

Titans stay alive for districts

CB South girls’ volleyball downed Pennridge, 3-1 (25-19, 25-17, 25-27, 25-13), on Tuesday to stay in the hunt for a district playoff berth. Stats for CB South: Megan Manderson, three aces, 12 kills, 19 digs; Morgan McCrory, two aces, two kills, 36 digs; Alyssa Dallmer, one ace, 16 kills, six blocks; Julia Dennis, nine kills, two blocks; Kelly Danyluk, five aces, 35 assists; Isabel Miller, five aces, three kills, 17 digs; and Sydney Hauser, three kills, two blocks. “Tonight was a huge win for us,” head coach Kurt Godfrey said. “All of the girls who played tonight contributed in a huge way. This was a game the team had circled on our calendar for a long time and it’s nice to pull out the W. Pennridge is a great team and they make you earn each point you get against them. They are extremely well coached and have some big talent. I thought we served really well and were able to put the pressure on them in serve receive. We were able to move on defense and put the ball away when we needed a big play. Megan, Julia and Alyssa were absolutely on fire tonight at the net. Megan has been amazing for us all season long, Julia has come on so strong in the second half of the season and Alyssa has been our utility player. She (Alyssa) has played almost every position for us at some point and she has handled it all with such poise and confidence. We are lucky to have such a great athlete like her. She was our ‘kills’ leader tonight and it was so nice to see her have such a big night. Isabel Miller also had a strong night for us on defense. I could talk about each player and give you positive things they did to contribute tonight. I am so proud of them and hopefully we can roll this momentum into our Senior Night tomorrow night.”

Titans bounce Bensalem

CB South girls’ volleyball beat Bensalem, 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-19), on Monday. She’s a freshman and it was her first varsity match. I think she got one of the biggest cheers of the season when she checked into the game tonight. Our captains, Megan Manderson and Morgan McCrory, continued to be absolutely incredible for us and every single girl who played tonight made a contribution. It was a nice all-around team victory.”
