Rams jettison host Panthers

Pennridge boys’ volleyball prevailed at Quakertown, 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-16), on Wednesday. Stats for Pennridge: Jesse Smith, 24 assists, six digs, two blocks; Ben Chinnici, 12 kills, 12 aces; Kevin Jones, eight kills, three blocks; Zach Detweiler, four kills, four blocks; Cross Edwards, four kills, seven digs, two aces; Josiah Friesen, five kills, four blocks; and Austin Rush, 14 digs. Stats for Quakertown: Mike Dierolf, 10 kills, four digs, one ace; Zach Dierolf, four kills; Graham Wilson, three kills, one block; Chris Cowan, two blocks; Logan Spieker, six kills, three digs, two blocks; Drew Stout, 17 assists; Josh Moyer, three digs; and Zac Mahler, 16 digs. Titans topped by North Penn

CB South boys’ volleyball fell to North Penn, 3-1 (25-19, 25-19, 20-25, 25-14), on Monday. Stats for CB South: Mark Macios, one kill, one block, four digs, 21 assists; Justin Koren, 10 kills, seven blocks, 13 digs, three assists; Tim White, four kills, three digs; Joe Karn, one ace, three kills, two blocks, two digs; and Mason Zeo, two aces, five kills, nine digs.

Rams ram Patriots

Pennridge boys’ volleyball won comfortably over CB East, 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-19), on Monday. Stats for Pennridge: Jesse Smith, 31 assists, four kills, five aces; Ben Chinnici, 14 kills, four blocks; Cross Edwards, 10 kills, 12 digs, two blocks; Aaron Nelson, three kills, three blocks; Kevin Jones, three kills, three blocks; Josiah Friesen, five kills; Ryan Spangler, two kills; Austin Rush, 10 digs; and Jeremy Baum, 10 digs. The Rams are 10-2 on the season and 10-1 in SOL Continental Conference play.

Rams settle for second

Pennridge boys’ volleyball placed second at Saturday’s State College Invitational. In morning pool play, the Rams defeated Meadville and Wilson, both by 2-0 scores, and split with State College, 1-1. In reseeded pool play, Pennridge split with Northeastern, 1-1; beat York Suburban, 2-0; and fell to Central York, 2-0. In the semifinals, the Rams downed York Suburban, 30-18, before losing to Northeastern, 25-18, 25-23, in the final. CB West boys’ volleyball pushed aside Quakertown, 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-17), on Thursday. Stats for Quakertown: Mike Dierolf, nine kills, 10 digs; Zach Dierolf, six kills, one block; Graham Wilson, two kills, two blocks; Logan Spieker, seven kills, one block, five digs; Justin Flor, three digs; and Drew Stout, 21 assists.

Rams serve up victory

Pennridge boys’ volleyball won at Central Bucks South, 3-1 (25-8, 25-19, 16-25, 25-21), on Thursday. Stats for Pennridge: Jesse Smith, 27 assists, six aces; Corey Quaste, 14 assists; Cross Edwards, 14 kills, eight digs, three blocks; Josiah Friesen, nine kills; Kevin Jones, six kills, two blocks; Zach Detweiler, four kills, two blocks; and Jeremy Pruss, 13 digs, two aces. “I was so proud of the effort these boys gave today,” Titans head coach Matt Ehlers said. “We really played together and stepped up as a team. Every player who I used tonight gave me their all and embraced the roll that I asked them to play to the best of their ability. Pennridge is a great team and to take a game off them was a big step in the right direction for our program.” Stats for CB South: Justin Koren, two aces, 12 kills, six blocks, six digs; Mark Macios, 17 assists, two blocks, six digs; Joe Karn, three kills, four blocks, four digs; and David Lulko, 12 digs, one ace, one assist.

Pennridge boys’ volleyball sank Cheltenham, 3-1 (25-10, 21-25, 25-6, 25-20), on Wednesday. Stats for Pennridge: Jesse Smith, 26 assists, three blocks; Cross Edwards, nine kills, six digs; Ben Chinnici, seven kills, 11 aces; Josiah Friesen, six kills, four aces; Kevin Jones, seven kills; and Corey Quaste, 11 assists. The Rams improved to 8-2 on the season and 8-1 in SOL Continental play.

Panthers deny Titans

Quakertown boys’ volleyball swept CB South, 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-11), on Wednesday. Stats for Quakertown: Mike Dierolf, nine kills, four digs; Zach Dierolf, one kill; Graham Wilson, three kills; Kevin Steich, two kills, one dig, one ace; Chris Cowan, one kill, one block; Logan Spieker, six kills, one dig, two blocks; Drew Stout, 20 assists, one kill, two aces; Josh Moyer, one kill, one ace, one dig; Zac Mahler, three digs, two aces; and Kevin Finlayson, four aces. For CB South, middle hitter Justin Koren had two aces, nine kills, two blocks, five digs and one assist.
