CB South’s Dan Klepchick pitched a gem against Quakertown baseball on Tuesday afternoon. The hurler went all seven innings, struck out nine, allowed five hits and walked one as the Titans shut out the Panthers, 3-0. Tommy Dugan and Will Moller each had two hits for CB South. Matt Bukavich had a pair of base knocks for Quakertown.
Allentown Central Catholic scored one in the seventh and one in the eighth to turn back Quakertown baseball, 4-3, on Saturday. The Panthers committed three errors which led to two unearned runs. Aaron Besch went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Quakertown. Matt Bukavich scored a pair for the Panthers. Justin Guidos pitched three innings of scoreless relief.
Quakertown baseball couldn’t get anything going on Friday against Hatboro-Horsham. The Panthers were shut out, 6-0. Quakertown had as many errors as hits (three). Of the six runs starter Matt Bukavich surrendered, only three were earned. Tyler Guidos pitched 2.2 scoreless innings in relief of Bukavich and struck out four.
Quakertown senior Cooper Johnson tossed a complete game shutout as the Panthers erased CB East, 5-0, on Thursday. Johnson struck out five and allowed only two hits and a walk. He needed only 79 pitches to get through seven innings. Offensively for Quakertown, Tyler Guidos went 2-for-3 with a couple RBI. Jake Wooden also had two hits. Jake Reed and Aaron Besch each scored a pair.
Jake Reed went 4-for-4, scored a pair and knocked in one run, but it wasn’t enough as Quakertown baseball succumbed to Norristown, 8-5, on Monday. Lake Friday went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored and Sam Pacella had two hits in four at-bats, plus an RBI, for the Panthers. Norristown scored three in the fifth and three in the sixth. Quakertown committed two errors.
Quakertown baseball succumbed to North Penn, 4-2, on Friday. A three-run Knights third inning doomed the Panthers. Matt Bukavich went 2-for-4 with a run scored for Quakertown. Jared Kishbaugh had the only other hit for the Panthers. Bukavich pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. He struck out two and didn’t yield a hit or a walk.
Host Souderton scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to trip up Quakertown baseball, 4-3, on Tuesday. The Panthers scored all three of their runs in the fourth. Jake Reed drove in two; Jake Wooden had the other RBI. Quakertown finished with only two hits, though the Panthers walked nine times. Tyler Guidos pitched the first five innings for Quakertown. He struck out four and allowed two runs.
Jake Reed went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs as Quakertown baseball nipped CB West, 4-3, on Thursday. Matt Bukavich also went 3-for-4 and scored twice for the Panthers. Drew San Angelo had two hits and scored a run for Quakertown. Bukavich picked up the win on the bump, pitching the final 2.2 innings. He struck out three. Cooper Johnson got the start for the Panthers. He went 4.1 innings and fanned five. The three runs he allowed were unearned. Drew Sypawka and Frank Amsler each had two base knocks for the Bucks. Steven Gebre had a couple RBI.
Nonleague Perkiomen needed extra innings to get by Quakertown baseball, 5-3 in eight innings, on Wednesday. Matt Bukavich went 2-for-5 for the Panthers. Brian Robison went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Drew San Angelo had the only other hit for Quakertown, plus the Panthers’ only RBI. Devyn Bard went the first four innings on the hill for Quakertown. He allowed one run and struck out two. Tyler Guidos pitched the final four innings, giving up four runs, however only two were earned. He punched out four.
Quakertown baseball opened its campaign with an 11-7 victory at William Tennent on Thursday. The visiting Panthers banged out 11 hits. Tyler Guidos went 3-for-5 with a couple RBI. Gunnar Horst had a pair of hits in three official at-bats. Jake Reed drove in two, and Brian Robison and Brandon DiCicco each scored a pair. Cooper Johnson pitched the first four innings for the win. He allowed three earned runs and struck out one.
