Spartans fall to Abington

Solebury School girls’ soccer came up short to Abington, 6-0, on Tuesday. Tavorsia Talley had 22 saves for the Spartans. “She really stepped up and was a force in the box,” head coach Lisa Bernardini said. “Tri-captain Hadiyyah Graves had a couple of close breakaways from great through balls from tri-captain Cassidy Patterson and Maya Brewington. Maya, who’s new to the team this year, really stepped up by taking the defensive center midfield position, where she had some great ball steals and clears to the forwards. Susan (Penggian) Huang also really stepped up as a defender and as a senior, helping to organize the backline with senior and tri-captain Julie Meisinger-MacDonald, who also made a lot of great clears. There was a lot of effort on the field today, so I couldn’t be more proud.”
