Lions swat away Upper Moreland

New Hope-Solebury boys’ tennis defeated Upper Moreland, 4-2, on Friday. A light rain fell as temperatures dropped into the low 40s creating chilly court conditions. Six of seven varsity matches were completed while the match being played by the fourth doubles teams was halted due to rain. The Lions’ record improves to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the BAL. 1st singles: Y. Vasilenko (NHS) def. C. Willeke (UM), 6-0, 6-0. 2nd singles: J. Wilson (NHS) def. Jason Choi (UM), 6-1, 6-0. 3rd singles: John Choi (UM) def. A. Garibaldi (NHS), 6-4, 6-1. 1st doubles: J. Yandle and D. Rubino (NHS) def. E. Mitchell and DJ Ross (UM), 6-1, 6-1. 2nd doubles: Z. Newman and A. Lotier (NHS) def. A. Troung and M. Nissenfeld (UM), 6-1, 6-4. 3rd doubles: R. MacFarland and C. Delaney (UM) def. S. Cloutier and A. Benda (NHS), 6-3, 6-1. 4th doubles: N. Damarodis and J. Natale (NHS) vs. R. Varela and T. Racik (UM), 6-3, 2-3 (postponed due to rain).
