Guelzow scores four as Rams roll

Pennridge boys’ water polo won at Springfield, 14-8, on Tuesday. The Rams took a commanding lead, 11-3, in the first half. Sophomore Silas Guelzow scored four goals and had two assists. The Rams defense was led by junior Kyle Frerichs, who had seven steals. Junior Andrew Dant had nine saves in goal. Rounding out the offensive effort were junior DJ Maurone with three goals and Frerichs, junior Colin Russell and sophomore Caelin McCool with two goals each. The victory leaves the Pennridge boys at 5-4 for the season in the Suburban One League. Head coach Ken Vincent commented, “I am very proud of the way our boys are coming together as a team and are improving with each game played. Coach Granger Abuhoff has also been a significant influence on the team and has helped our younger developing players play at a much higher level.”
