George School too much for Spartans

Solebury School girls’ soccer lost to George School, 8-0, on Tuesday. “We played a great first half, keeping George School to only one goal,” Spartans head coach Lisa Bernardini said. “The defensive line really stepped up and stayed strong in the back. Tavorsia Talley had 23 saves and one great save on a fast-break by George School. We have been working on her stepping forward towards the fast-breakers, and she did exactly that and saved it. Tri-captain Julie Meisinger-MacDonald was a big force in the back for us, too. She stayed back a little further this game to help intercept any fast-break chances, so we really improved by limiting those opportunities for our opponent. Although this was a tough game, teams like this are really preparing us well for our in-league opponents.”
