Palisades girls’ basketball won easily over visiting Plumstead Christian on Monday. The Pirates triumphed, 63-8. Karlee Krchnavi led three Pirates in double figures with 18. Joey Noonan added 16 and Lizzie Sessinger had 10. Tori Roberts and Sophie Kent each managed three points for the Panthers.
New Hope-Solebury boys’ soccer will move on to the district championship game Thursday evening at CR North. The Lions knocked off Plumstead Christian, 5-2, in the district semifinals on Tuesday at Souderton. New Hope outshot the Panthers, 11-2. Christian Oliveira and Matt Barile each deposited two goals; Alex Lotier had the other. Alan Smith and Lotier had assists. Andrew Johnson scored both of Plumstead’s goals.
Faith Christian boys’ soccer, a sparkling 14-0 on the season, dropped the hammer on host Plumstead Christian in the second half Thursday. The Lions prevailed, 6-0, thanks to five second-half tallies, including two each by senior Jack Henley and classmate Elijah Bartholomew. Trevor Chew scored in the first half for Faith, and Dylan Papiernik connected in the second half.
Maggie Dougherty, assisted by Kyle Chapin, knocked in the game-winner with 28 seconds remaining in overtime to give New Hope-Solebury field hockey a 1-0 victory on Thursday at Plumstead Christian. The Lions held a 13-4 advantage in corners and a 12-6 advantage in shots to remain unbeaten on the season.
Senior Matt Barile netted a hat trick as New Hope-Solebury boys’ soccer dropped visiting Plumstead Christian, 4-1, on Tuesday. The Lions outshot the Panthers, 17-1. New Hope senior Christian Oliveira scored in the second half, while Jack Natale assisted on Barile’s third goal of the contest. Junior Justin Brautigam’s tally for Plumstead came with 2:57 on the clock in the second half.
