Lions win easily over Panthers

New Hope-Solebury boys’ tennis prevailed, 7-0, over Plumstead Christian on Tuesday. 1st singles: Y. Vasilenko (NHS) def. B. Millham (PC), 6-0, 6-0. 2nd singles: A. Roji (NHS) def. A. Hawersen (PC), 6-0, 6-0. 3rd singles: J. Wilson (NHS) def. T. Kelly (PC), 6-0, 6-0. 1st doubles: J. Yandle and D. Rubino (NHS) def. R. Keppe and M. McBride (PC), 6-1, 6-1. 2nd doubles: Z. Newman and A. Lotier (NHS) def. C. Maxel and M. Marey (PC), 6-1, 6-0. 3rd doubles: S. Cloutier and A. Benda (NHS) def. J. McGuinness and C. Peterson (PC), 6-3, 6-4. 4th doubles: J. Natale and B. Kerr (NHS) won by forfeit.

Lions advance to district final

New Hope-Solebury boys’ soccer will move on to the district championship game Thursday evening at CR North. The Lions knocked off Plumstead Christian, 5-2, in the district semifinals on Tuesday at Souderton. New Hope outshot the Panthers, 11-2. Christian Oliveira and Matt Barile each deposited two goals; Alex Lotier had the other. Alan Smith and Lotier had assists. Andrew Johnson scored both of Plumstead’s goals.

Barile, Lions topple Panthers

Senior Matt Barile netted a hat trick as New Hope-Solebury boys’ soccer dropped visiting Plumstead Christian, 4-1, on Tuesday. The Lions outshot the Panthers, 17-1. New Hope senior Christian Oliveira scored in the second half, while Jack Natale assisted on Barile’s third goal of the contest. Junior Justin Brautigam’s tally for Plumstead came with 2:57 on the clock in the second half.
