Lions tame Panthers

Faith Christian girls’ basketball defeated Plumstead Christian, 53-38, in the opening round of the BAL tournament on Monday in Sellersville. The Lions took charge with a 16-5 first quarter and a 15-3 third. Liz Hoffman and Jessica Robinson each scored a dozen for Faith. Ashley Parylak added eight. Erin Haines had 13 points for the Panthers; Chloe Kent notched 10 and Olivia Mott had eight. Faith will face The Christian Academy in the next round.

Panthers overwhelm Pirates

Plumstead Christian boys’ basketball used a big second half to defeat Palisades, 43-21, in Monday’s nonleague contest. The Panthers broke a 12-12 halftime deadlock with a 21-7 third quarter and a 10-2 fourth to up their record to 7-5. The Pirates fell to 1-14. Kyle Elton led the Panthers with 16 points; Carson Curry added 10. Bobby Snyder paced the Pirates with 10 points.
