New Hope-Solebury boys’ soccer was blanked by Holy Ghost Prep, 4-0, on Thursday. The Lions took only two shots. Sophomore Joey Braun scored three goals for Holy Ghost Prep.
New Hope-Solebury girls’ volleyball swept Faith Christian, 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-19), on Tuesday. New Hope senior setter Casey Coughlin handed out 23 assists, while sophomore Jacquie Whitney (17 kills) and senior Hannah Lelie (11 kills) added to the offensive attack. Faith was paced by Kari Anderson’s 12 assists and Kendra Kemmerer’s 10 kills.
New Hope-Solebury boys’ cross country took first place in Class AA at the Council Rock Invitational on Saturday at Tyler State Park in Newtown. Anna Vidakovic scored two goals as New Hope-Solebury girls’ soccer blasted Faith Christian, 6-1, Tuesday in New Hope. Meredith Crilley, Bailey Jaronski, Chanel D’Angelo and Isabella DeVito also scored for New Hope. Senior Sarah Doelp netted the lone goal for Faith Christian.
New Hope-Solebury boys’ soccer returned to the win column with a 5-2 triumph Monday over Lower Moreland. Senior Matt Barile scored a pair of goals for the Lions. Classmates Christian Oliveira and Alan Smith and sophomore Riley Smith also found the back of the net. Abel Flores handed out two assists.
New Hope-Solebury boys’ soccer lost a tough one Saturday to Moravian Academy, 2-1. Junior captain Jack McCambridge connected twice in the second half for Moravian. Collin Curran fed Riley Smith at the 3:29 mark of the second half for New Hope’s lone goal. Both teams managed five shots.
Maggie Dougherty, assisted by Kyle Chapin, knocked in the game-winner with 28 seconds remaining in overtime to give New Hope-Solebury field hockey a 1-0 victory on Thursday at Plumstead Christian. The Lions held a 13-4 advantage in corners and a 12-6 advantage in shots to remain unbeaten on the season.
New Hope-Solebury boys’ soccer succumbed to Pennington, 3-1, on Thursday. Pennington made its four shots on goal count, with one goal in the first half and two in the second. Riley Smith deposited the Lions’ lone goal in the 32nd minute.
New Hope-Solebury boys’ soccer suffered a 3-1 setback Tuesday at Holy Ghost Prep. Austin Dallago, assisted by Riley Smith, put the Lions on the board first, but Ghost answered with three goals (by Pierce Skelly, Matthew Crawford and Michael Kirby). New Hope was outshot, 7-4.
New Hope-Solebury boys’ soccer got a leg up on rival Christopher Dock on Tuesday. The Lions knocked off the visiting Pioneers, 3-1. New Hope received first-half goals from sophomore Aaron Nagg (assisted by Austin Dallago) and Dallago; senior Jack Natale assisted on classmate’s Christian Oliveira’s tally in the second half for the Lions, who outshot Dock, 9-6.
