Lions pummel Calvary Christian

New Hope-Solebury girls’ tennis routed Calvary Christian, 7-0, on Thursday. The Lions were missing their No. 1 singles player, Lynn Ferro, because of illness. “Hannah Sterbinsky shone, stepping in to play singles and defeating her opponent in three hard-fought sets,” head coach Karen Douglass said. 1st singles: Larissa Borys (NHS) def. Ashley Lesage and Jessica Lim (CC), 6-1, 6-1. 2nd doubles: Catherine Donahue and Brielle MacNichol (NHS) def. Presley Shemelia and Maura Thiboldeaux (CC), 6-0, 6-0. 3rd doubles: Sophie Alberts and Keanne Marcelo (NHS) def. Lions stalled by Devon Prep

New Hope-Solebury golf lost a tough one, 187-195, at Devon Prep on Tuesday. All five Prep players shot below 40, with Bryan Donoto’s 34 leading the way. Clay Asplundh and Ben Wiseman each carded a 35 for the Lions. Nina Kouchi (40), Nate Hiriak (40) and Bobby Wannemacher (45) also contributed.
