Calvary Christian sinks Spartans

Solebury School girls’ soccer went down to Calvary Christian, 2-0, on Thursday. “Tri-captain Julie Meisinger-MacDonald made a couple key defensive plays by recovering and catching a few girls on breakaways,” Spartans head coach Lisa Bernardini said. “Tavorsia Talley, Solebury’s goalie, also made some huge saves to keep Calvary Christian at one goal in the first half. Tri-captain Cassidy Patterson had a great free kick in the first half that hit off the crossbar. The second half was fought hard by both teams. Solebury had a few shots by Patterson and newcomer Erynn Lynch, all being great chances, but unfortunately couldn’t find the back of the net. Solebury’s defense did a good job of holding off some close chances by Calvary Christian in the second half, but with about 15 minutes left, Calvary slipped past the defense and was able to score on a breakaway, which put them ahead by two.”
