Posted

The 43rd annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show will take place Nov. 8 to 10, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

The juried show includes 195 of the finest contemporary craft artists in the United States, and this year’s Guest Artist Program will feature 22 artists from Israel. Selected from more than 875 juried applicants, there are 30 U.S. states represented, 31 Pennsylvania artists, and 15 artists from Philadelphia.

Three universities will be represented on the show floor this year: Moore College of Art & Design, SCAD Jewelry Graduate Study and Drexel University Westphal College of Media Arts & Design.

Produced by The Women’s Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, it is the longest running show of its type in the United States and the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Thirteen categories of craft are represented, including ceramics, jewelry, mixed media, furniture, fiber, glass, paper, and emerging artists. There will be artist demonstrations and meet and greets.

A preview party cocktail gala will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7. The show runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, in Convention Center Exhibit Hall F, 12th and Arch streets, Philadelphia.

Proceeds from ticket sales help to purchase works of art and craft for the museum’s permanent collection and fund education and community outreach projects, state-of-the-art equipment, and special exhibitions.
