Peace Valley Recovery celebrates outpatient addiction treatment center opening

Posted

Peace Valley Recovery celebrated the grand opening of its new outpatient addiction treatment facility Friday, Nov. 8, at its clinical building located at 5230 York Road, Doylestown.

The 4,000-square-foot building includes private offices for therapists, group rooms and administrative space. The location is set back from the road and offers a private, picturesque setting.

The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony was open to the public. Some noteworthy attendees and speakers were Diane Rosati, executive director of the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission; Matt Weintraub, Bucks County district attorney; Michael Gallagher, Buckingham Township chief of police; and Robert Whitley, Bucks County attorney and opioid activist.

“We’re excited to bring compassionate addiction treatment to the Doylestown community, an area in which we feel our services are needed. Many locals don’t realize that Bucks County has led our state in overdose-related deaths,” said Robin Styer, chief marketing officer and Bucks County native.

The facility was founded by Michael Parker, CEO, and Doug Proctor, co-founder. The two decided they wanted to open Peace Valley Recovery almost two years ago. The idea was to provide quality community-based treatment, something they say is hard to find. After researching locations, they decided on the Doylestown area.

“Mike and I have been affected by addiction in different ways. Together we understand treatment from the perspective of the patient, as well as the family member. We wanted to build a place where we would feel comfortable sending our own loved ones,” Proctor said.

Peace Valley Recovery offers a mix of traditional and holistic therapies. Its services include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, 12-step recovery and yoga.

The facility currently has over 15 full-time employees and plans to add additional staff soon. The program will be overseen by Medical Director Dr. Elizabeth Drew and Clinical Director Krista Kelly, both seasoned substance-abuse professionals.

Peace Valley Recovery is now fully operational and accepting patients.
