Warwick Township dedicates new firehouse
Hundreds of community members gathered to celebrate the grand opening and dedication of the Warwick Township Fire Company’s new firehouse. The festivities took place on Sept. 21 with local officials, business and community leaders, fire company members and township residents on hand to share in the celebration.
Tours were offered and children had a chance to climb aboard the fire company’s trucks and check out firefighters’ gear and equipment. Games and entertainment were provided by WIP Sports Radio.
During the ceremony, former Chief George Forte, who founded the fire company 55 years ago, remarked, “I am pleased with the new building and want to thank the firefighters for their time and dedication to the company. I would also like to thank those who worked on the new building, making this day possible.”
The public is invited to participate in the Warwick Fire Company’s Fire Prevention Open House on Saturday, Oct. 19. Included are rides on the ladder truck, fire hose and fire extinguisher exercises, and a vehicle rescue drill.
