Posted

Middle Bucks Institute of Technology students in the Electrical Technology program competed in an event hosted by the Electrical Associate of Philadelphia (EAP).

The EAP is a nonprofit regional trade association with a diverse membership of about 400 companies, including electrical engineers, manufacturers and representatives, wholesalers, utilities, inspectors, and electrical, HVAC and contractors. EAP represents the entire supply chain within Philadelphia area.

The Electric Expo students were asked to complete a series of tasks, follow event procedures, and work together as a team to complete the assigned tasks.

The first-place winning team was from Middle Bucks and comprised of three students: Christopher Bayer, a junior at William Tennent High School; Garrick Hill, a junior at William Tennent High School; and Patrick Lafferty, a junior at Central Bucks West. Sarah Hagy, executive director of EAP, was able to visit Middle Bucks on Dec. 6 to present each student with a check for $50. Additionally, Hagy presented the Electrical Technology program with a check for $500 to be used for additional educational purchases for the program.
